Just read your blog sounds delicious.. I have found a little smokery based in shropshire that also makes amazing smoked salmon. but be warned they are usually sold out weeks in advance now thats saying something wink wink, try smoked salmon with gruyere and bagels warmed in the oven !!!! my god i need a smoke fix.

Mmm.. soda bread.. I made some today for breakfast, and my recipe is quite similar to yours. Brown bread reminds me of prawns in a maryrose sauce served with brown bread, which seemed to be on so many menus the last time I was in Ireland.

That salmon sounds so good, and smoked eel? Even better! Will have to keep an eye out for it next time I’m in the area.

Wholemeal soda bread is one of those foods that is impossibly tasty compared to its health benefits – surerly nothing that yummy can be good for you?! :o) The smoked salmon looks terrific too – simple is best!

I need to go to Selfridges tomorrow anyway so I’m going to look out for this salmon at the same time! I love salmon on brown bread, it’s perfect and with the pickled cucumber it sounds perfect.

You just cannot beat smoked salmon on brown bread. You are absolutely right – this is the best way to taste the salmon. A pretty delicate flavor shouldn’t be overpowered by heavy cheeses or creams.

Another favorite of mine is actually smoked salmon ravioli – just toss in a little brown butter.
