A Postcard from Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia is suffering an unusual bout of grey weather and rain for this time of year so not many pictures of the landscape for you, but a small selection of some things that I liked as I made my way around. I think they capture the spirit.
It’s still a superb place to visit. Like Ireland, they are used to the bad weather and so have a vibrant indoors culture. A bubbling local brewing culture and lots of vineyards pair beautifully with great local seafood. Live traditional music and jazz sits comfortably beside.
Looking forward to getting back here in the summer sometime too. I would love to head up to Cape Breton and also over to Newfoundland. It has to be done, right?
Do you have a recipe for fiddlehead ferns?
Nova Scotia looks amazing.
Hello Matthew! Yes – they are superb with scallops but just perfect on their own simply cooked in butter. :)
great photos… looks cold, I cant imagine in the winter!
It is like February in London right now but I don’t mind that :)
Its all beautiful and rather quaint. I love it. Yes you must head on to Newfoundland and at some point, Prince Edward Island.
PEI also most definitely on my list.
Beautiful images! Thank you for visiting Nova Scotia. We wish we could have welcomed you on the Authentic Seacoast this visit, but we know you’ll be back for more :) See you next time! Doug at the Authentic Seacoast
Hi Doug! A shame not to have had a chance to pop up but hope to be back soon-ish.
Beautiful! Cape Breton is definitely worth a visit – some amazing scenery in the north and east especially. I still get a little bit drooly remembering the fresh crab I ate there. Would love to go back on a foraging trip!
Cape Breton is very high on my list but time is short this trip. Great seafood here indeed!
looks lovely! My aunt who lives there says the lobster rolls are to die for.
Too bad the weather was so crummy for you! Nova Scotia is a wonderful place to visit (or live!) and the food can be truly exceptional.
